Shaolin Kempo Karate
SKK is a comprehensive, accessible and practical martial arts system for self defense and personal development. Improve strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and confidence in a welcoming, supportive setting.
A main benefit of the dojo for me is peer pressure. When I'm on an exercise bike or treadmill, no one but me knows if I cheat and quit early. But once I walk through the dojo door, there's no way I'm walking out of that class early in front of all my friends. Another benefit for me is interest factor. Exercise bikes are boring. Learning sweet self defense moves is captivating.

SKK is a safe, full-body workout that is appropriate for beginners and safe for people of all ages and ability levels.
I've had a number of twisted knees starting from 1973 and continuing through 2002. I have been unable to straighten or bend my left knee to maximum angulation my entire adult life. I have swum, run, skied, hiked and biked but the knee would only go so far. Enter SKK and the exercise regiment has enabled me to bend my knee again to the point where I could play little league catcher!! It's incredible. It's not about belts for me anymore although I like to learn and practice self defense. It is the return of mobility and the ability to be as good if not better conditioned as when I was in my youth.

Master Kickboxing
Our kickboxing classes are designed for students who want a more intense aerobic workout. This class has no contact with partners, but students practice power striking on heavy bags. All our kickboxing instructors are trained in Shaolin Kempo Karate, so you learn real martial arts applications with every move.
Kickboxing at Villari's gave me the intensity and fun I was looking for in a work out. The casual atmosphere and friendly community create a great environment for working out. After a year of kickboxing I am visibly more toned and muscular. I love the fact that I am working hard while learning a new skill related to self defense. Put simply, it is really hard, in a good way, and fun!
Pilates
Pilates classes are challenging yet gentle classes that build strength and flexibility from the inside out. Great for releasing stress, tension and even pain!
Pilates is great! My flexibility has improved and my core is getting stronger with every class. It is a good way to start the day. Also, the instructor is very helpful and takes the time to make sure I'm doing the exercises correctly.

S.A.F.E.—Women’s Self Defense
Women’s self defense is about more than fighting back. It’s about understanding the everyday realities of women’s lives in our society, and empowering ourselves to keep control of our own bodies. As a woman-run martial arts school, we offer the best of both worlds with a program designed by 6th degree black belt Master Mary Murphy and her daughter, 2nd degree black belt and sexual assault prevention activist.
The SAFE class was so much fun, I took it twice! It's very informative and I was comfortable working in a group of all women. Everything I learned was simple, yet I know it will be very effective if I ever need to use it. SAFE is unique because I could practice my defense on an actual person and get on the spot feedback to improve my techniques.
